We should know the x-ray luggage scanner working theory before getting to know the if the x-ray machine do harm to our food when going through the xray baggage scanner. X-ray parcel scanners are widely used in train station and airport. The x-ray machine working theory is conveying the luggage to the X-ray checking tunnel and the x-ray will eject from the control system when the parcel block the sensor. The penetration x-ray will go through the parcel and show what’s inside the luggage clearly.

X-ray baggage detector will produce x-ray light when detecting the luggage. And the x-ray light belongs to ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation has a huge and irreversible harm to human body. But normally, passage could not easily touch the x-ray light because of the protection metal frame and lead curtain.

Now there is any prove showing that x-ray light will do harm to food yet.But in my personal view, we suggest passengers to take the food out ofyour luggage before going through the x-ray equipments and better not eat the food if it’s lighted by bga x-ray inspection.
